There are certain exceptions to all of this, however. Some places still allow the use of 60-ampere equipment provided that the load is not as heavy. The usual places to see this would cover some individual apartments around Northern America. Inspectors shouldn’t be quick to diagnose this automatically as a problem.

These same locations would normally have amperage levels set lower than that of city standards so making these localities immediately follow suit aren’t needed per se. The size and energy consumption of these places would allow for a lighter load on the main grid. The bottom line is that no matter the particular location, the currently installed electrical equipment makes Ampacity the limiting factor.
